Another brilliant aspect of HFO and Occidental’s affiliation is the ability to provide immediate production services on Re-Shoots, Pick-Ups, Inserts, Additional Photography, Action Units, Second Units – plenty of room to shoot, we’re standing by!
HFO is located on the lot at the storied Occidental Studios built back in 1913, dedicated to Mary Pickford’s independent spirit in 1968 by director Robert Aldrich. The film plant was established by Hobart Bosworth to shoot a Jack London novel, Sea Wolf, and later became owned and operated by Famous Players – Lasky (Paramount Pictures) among many others. It is a mildly celebrated and famously Independent film studio still surviving Hollywood. For a long time, during the Silent era, it was the biggest film plant in the world. It now holds the recognition of being the oldest continuously operating studio in town! Take a look….

In addition to the standing sets and the 3 sound stages on the main lot, Occidental Studios operates 9 additional satellite sound stages in and around Hollywood making it the largest independent film studio in the world.
